Everything Glaze

$280 / 8 weeks

This class has everything but the chemistry, though we will touch on that, too. Learn to layer, peacock style, cuerda seca, underglazes, transfers, screen printing, oxides and washes, scraffito, dipping, brushing, layering, precision lines, flooding, and more. As a ^6 studio, I don’t have many dipping glazes, but most home potters won’t either. I’ll cover it so you are comfortable in a community studio, but most of what we do hand applied. There is no making of clay pieces in this class, so make sure you are experienced and can bring pieces that are at different stages such as leather hard or bisque. We can arrange to bisque fire your work ahead of time if needed. I will also have 6” x 6” tile available for a nominal fee. I run a very small studio, so only about 3 - 4 students at a time.

**in class glaze supplies are provided up to a 6x6x6 piece per project, larger projects may have increased charges to cover material costs, please discuss. (Commercial glazes run about $20 per pint and that adds up quickly.)
